"Terminator Genisys" is a science fiction action adventure film directed by Alan Taylor. It's the fifth installment in the Terminator series. It tells the alternative story of Sarah Connor who meets the Terminator earlier than Kyle Reese expects and fate changes.

I love the Terminator series, I love Arnie, I love Emilia Clarke. However all this facts can't make me say that "Terminator Genisys" is a deserving continuation of the James Cameron's masterpieces (1984 and 1991).
I'm going to start with disadvantages. First of all, cheap humour because of which the film sounds like an other Hollywood action film (and the sugary happy ending is corresponding). Secondly, there's almost no violence (due to PG-13) that takes place in the first two parts. Thirdly, the cast is full of well-known faces but it doesn't save the picture: I prefer Michael Biehn in role of Kyle Reese to Jai Courtney who seems less emotional than a Terminator; my lovely Emilia Clarke looks like a typical young rebel and isn't my Sarah at all (it's enough to recall the portrayal of Linda Hamilton); and as for Jason Clarke... I can't see him as John Connor. And fourthly, what's going on with the plot? "The Terminator": we must save Sarah from death. "Terminator 2: Judgment Day": we must save John from death.Well, it's clear but what comes next? "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines": Sarah is dead and John is safe, we must make Judgment Day. "Terminator Salvation": okay, the war has begun, we must save Kyle Reese. And "Terminator Genisys": and what now? Let's make John Connor, Leader of the Resistance, a new Terminator and Sarah and Kyle will defeat him and SkyNet. It's too much, in my opinion.
Speaking about advantages, it's necessary to mention some things. For me the main star of this film and of the all franchise is Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 and he's back - so only owing to him it's a must-see. Good action and excellent special effects save a little boring relationships.
