"The Martian" is an adventure science fiction drama film directed by Ridley Scott and based on Andy Weir's 2011 novel "The Martian", which was adapted into a screenplay by Drew Goddard. The story follows Astronaut Mark Watney who is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew during a manned mission to Mars. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet.
