"Alien: Covenant" is a science fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott and written by John Logan and Dante Harper. It's the sequel to "Prometheus" and the sixth installment overall in the "Alien" film series. The story is about the crew of a colony ship heading for a remote planet, which looks so perfect that a threat is impossible to spot immediately.

Finally, the new film in the legendary "Alien" film series is out! The sequel to "Prometheus", the second prequel to "Alien" (something kind of "Star Wars")... Great expectations, no doubt. But has it turned out good enough? Spoiler alert.
The film begins with the scene of talking Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) with his new creation David (Michael Fassbender) about the great mystery - who is mankind's creator? In search of the answer another problem appears: David becomes more independent and self-minded and decides to get rid of the Engineers using their own pathogen on their planet. And after that the android starts his experiments in order to create a perfect being. That's why we can see several forms which are predecessors to Xenomorph like Neomorphs or Protomorphs. In my opinion, it's an excellent conception of gods and monsters and a brilliant character arc of David. Unfortunately, that's not the only one storyline.
We also watch adventures of a not very clever ship crew that do stupid stuff of various kinds. Running and screaming instead of solving problems? Yes, of course. Acting without thinking? Why not. Trusting without reasons? Sure. That's why I even don't want to talk about all of the members as most of them are in the film just to die: James Franco's Jake with no words, Billy Crudup's Oram with a lack of common sense, Amy Seimetz's Maggie with hunger to explosions... Only Katherine Waterston's Daniels and Danny McBride's Tennessee are not that hopeless.
There are still a lot of questions to the film like "why do we need some scenes with a hint of sex" or "why does Fassbender's David need to kiss Fassbender's Walter" and etc. However despite all the disadvantages "Alien: Covenant" is nevertheless a must-see just in order to find some answers to "Prometheus" and "Alien" or enjoy the visual effects, new deaths and the wonderful atmosphere of despair. But don't even try to remember all the names of the crew because there's no need.
