If you want to see "The Wolf of Wall Street" but with more than one main character and almost no alcohol and drugs, "The Big Short" - is an absolute must-see. Several people try to benefit from the global financial crisis and comment their actions at the same time. This way, even a person far of economics may understand how the crisis begins and what's in the wind on screen during two hours.
As for the cast, it turned out fantastic: Christian Bale as a little strange but clever Michael Burry, Steve Carell as quick-tempered and foolhardy Mark Baum, Ryan Gosling as adventurous and charming Jared Vennett, Finn Wittrock as enchanting and ambitious Jamie Shipley, Brad Pitt as steadfast Ben Rickert. Splendid acting - that's why you should watch the film even if you don't like its topic.
And it's also important to mention that music and interesting takes (not as impressive as Emmanuel Lubezki's ones but, anyway, pay your attention on them).

- The crisis
When the Wall Street evangelists started preaching "no bailout for you" before the collapse of British bank Northern Rock, they hardly knew that history would ultimately have the last laugh. With the onset of the global credit crunch and the fall of Northern Rock, August 2007 turned out to be just the starting point for big financial landslides. Since then, we have seen many big names rise, fall, and fall even more.
