"Doctor Strange" is a superhero action adventure film directed by Scott Derrickson, written by Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargilland based on the Marvel character of the same name. It's the fourteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is about a former neurosurgeon who embarks on a journey of healing only to be drawn into the world of the mystic arts.

Cast
  • Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange:
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo
  • Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer
  • Benedict Wong as Wong
  • Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West
  • Benjamin Bratt as Jonathan Pangborn
  • Scott Adkins as Lucian
  • Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius
  • Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One

Stephen Strange is an acclaimed neurosurgeon with a superiority complex who gets in a terrible car accident and loses the use of his hands. After trying almost everything he finds the way to heal his injuries: Stephen goes to Kamar-Taj where he starts a new life full of realities and opportunities.

Finally one of the most anticipated movies of 2016 is released, and yes, it's quite a good film to watch in order to... relax and free your mind. Why? Don't expect the real fight between good and evil because there's nothing either black or white - everything is grey, just like in our reality. And that's good, that's good as exactly this fact makes a film about magic closer to us, ordinary mortals viewers.

If you still need reasons to see "Doctor Strange", I can say three words: the visual effects. Oh, the visualisation will keep you look at the screen attentively, so you will feel just like a child who looks through a kaleidoscope.

As for the acting, the cast is all-star. First of all, charismatic Benedict Cumberbatch is always a joy to watch as he's truly talented, let's just accept it. But his Doctor Strange, fortunately of unfortunately, reminds a magic version of Sherlock, and this feeling of deja vu can really disappoint you and make you think that Cumberbatch is becoming a hostage of the one character (like Christoph Waltz after "Inglourious Basterds") but it's too early to make up a conclusion. Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton are in the film just for fun: they have not deep parts (if it's possible to say that) so it's just a pleasure to see them on the screen. And exactly the same things I can say about Rachel McAdams and Michael Stuhlbarg - good acting but nothing new. And no, I don't mean it in a bad way.

All in all, if you're still not sure, imagine a good action (not even superhero) movie with famous names, tasty jokes and fascinating special effects. Are sure now? I recommend it to see at least one time and just have fun.
