"The Huntsman: Winter's War" is a fantasy action adventure film directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Craig Mazin. It's a prequel/sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman". The second film tells the story of Freya, Ravenna's sister, whose heart is broken and because of this she decides to create a kingdom and bring up an army from kidnapped children among whom there are Eric and Sara.

Cast
  • Chris Hemsworth as Eric, the Huntsman
  • Conrad Khan as young Eric
  • Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the Evil Queen
  • Emily Blunt as Freya, the Ice Queen
  • Jessica Chastain as Sara, the Warrior
  • Niamh Walter as young Sara
  • Nick Frost as Nion
  • Sam Claflin as King William
  • Rob Brydon as Gryff
  • Alexandra Roach as Doreena
  • Sheridan Smith as Bromwyn
  • Colin Morgan as The Duke of Blackwood, Freya's lover
  • Christopher Obi as the voice of Mirror Man, the physical form of the Magic Mirror
  • Madeleine Worrall as Eric's mother
  • Sope Dirisu as Tull
  • Sam Hazeldine as Liefr

The second part, here we go! In my opinion, it has turned out not as "dark" as the first one but this time we can enjoy the performances of four (in general) wonderful actors: Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain. And in fact, the cast is the only causes to watch "The Huntsman: Winter's War", which however, I must admit, has more vivid dialogues and better acting and that are its main advantages. Oh, and how could I forget about beautiful visual effects?

To sum up, I want to say that filmmakers considered mistakes from "Snow White and the Huntsman" and made a better film but not a masterpiece.

Advantages
  • Chris Hemsworth as Eric, the Huntsman
  • Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the Evil Queen
  • Emily Blunt as Freya, the Ice Queen
  • Jessica Chastain as Sara, the Warrior
  • Visual effects

Disadvantages
  • The plot
  • Dialogues

"Strangenesses"
  •  A girl with a broken heart went crazy? Seriously?

Clue Moments
  • Freya's child
  • Freya's ice powers
  • Freya's palace and laws
  • Eric and Sara
  • The ice wall
  • Nion and Gryff
  • "Sanctuary"
  • The white owl
  • Sara's return
  • Goblins
  • Sara's plan
  • The mirror
  • Ravenna'a return
  • The truth
  • Death of sisters
  • "Lucky"
  • Freedom
