I was waiting for "The Revenant" and for what? People say Leonardo DiCaprio will get an Oscar for this role, and, of course, it will be the event of the 2010s. And after watching the film I really do believe that the the end of DiCaprio memes is near: undoubtedly Leonardo did his best to show a man prepared to make any sacrifice to take revenge. But in fact we're watching how the actor is walking through the circles of Hell in order to prove everyone who still doesn't see in him anything outstanding (does people who don't consider DiCaprio as a talented actor exist?) that he deserved an Oscar years ago.
But strangely enough, I more enjoyed Tom Hardy's character: all his cruel and merciless Fitzgerald wants is to get a cash and then moves to Texas; he knows exactly what he needs so a viewer can't see any questions in his eyes - and that's what I actually like.
However, acting isn't the main feature of "The Revenant": the reason why it's a must-see is Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography which accurately can turn viewer's heads. So during and after watching you will feel the perfection of what you see on screen.
