I'd heard enough about "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" therefore I couldn't dissuade myself from watching it. And after almost the whole November of film series the picture turned out something like a breath of fresh air: no cliche, no typical dialogues, no teenage drama. Moreover, it didn't seem like "The Fault in Our Stars" or "Now Is Good", no - there was no love story, only the story of real friendship grown from a simple mistake.
Greg Gaines, performed by Thomas Mann, has spent his school years trying to be friends with everyone. Or it's better to say not friends, he has just wanted to become a straightforward fellow. But one day his Mom asked him to call Rachel, who has recently known - she's ill. Greg doesn't want to do it, but does, all in all. And insensibly becomes true friends with her.
Acting of little known actresses and actors charms that you believe them from the beginning. But what's more: the absence of special effects, which aren't obligatory in such films, also fills up with the sharp plot, unusual shooting and frames.
If you're still not sure to watch or not, don't forget: "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" is Sundance 2015 winner.
