David Fincher is a great expert at his trade therefore I love all his works (some more, some less, but all) for his style and his knack of keeping a viewer in suspense. He pays much attention to such important things as music, colours, dialogues, foreshortening, camera movements, light, etc. And all these factors are on the high level in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Fincher's love for realism allow to see the film like a real story with unpleasant incidents.

First of all, I want to admit that the cast performed very well and I just comment upon some members.

The film showed me Rooney Mara from the absolutely another side. Her character is noteworthy not only for courage, honesty and impudence, but also for her appearance. Piercings, tattoos... People think she made them due to the desire to stand out, psychiatrists - because of her ill nature. However Lisbeth is just Lisbeth. Probably she's a little mad but she does her best to do work. A difficult character anyway, and Rooney Mara coped with the role brilliantly.

I'm not a fan of Bondiana and therefore I hadn't see anything with Daniel Craig before "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". What can I say? His performance impressed me, his acting is excellent.

Advantages
  • Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist
  • Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander
  • Interesting twists
  • The open cards

Disadvantages
  • A little slow moving
  • Raping of Lisbeth

"Strangenesses"
  • How unknown can be close people

Clue Moments
  • Raping of Lisbeth
  • Ensnaring Mikael
