"Nerve" is a thriller adventure film directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and written by Jessica Sharzer, based on the novel of the same name. The story is about Vee, a shy high school senior, who decides to take part in "Nerve", an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers."

  • Dave Franco as Ian/Sam

  • Samira Wiley as Azhar
  • Ed Squires as Chuck
  • Brian Marc as J.P.

  • Casey Neistat as himself

If you're looking for an evening movie without a deep meaning, "Nerve" is a perfect choice. And no, I don't want to sound like a snob: the film has wonderful visual effects, summer soundtracks, Emma Roberts and Dave Franco, and all of these elements create the atmosphere of night adventures. And as almost every night adventure "Nerve" has some problems - in its case they're a simple plot or it's better to say a naive one: no real troubles (actually just contrived ones), no catchy characters. However it doesn't mean you can't watch it at least one time.

Of course, there're reasons for that like Emma Roberts and Dave Franco (yes, they were my mine to be waiting for "Nerve"). It's impossible to call their performances great or remarkable but their acting doesn't raise questions: beautiful young people in search of risk - what can be more charming? Especially when they drive through the night with neon lights and dance music on the background. Therefore if you want to charge into adventure, "Nerve" will help you. It will dare you.
