"The Spy Who Loved Me" is an action adventure thriller film directed by Lewis Gilbert and written by Richard Maibaum and Christopher Wood, based on "James Bond" by Ian Fleming. It's the tenth installment of the "James Bond" film series which follows Secret Agent James Bond who investigates the hijacking of British and Russian submarines carrying nuclear warheads with the help of a KGB agent whose lover he killed.

Cast
  • Roger Moore as James Bond 007
  • Barbara Bach as Anya Amasova/Agent Triple X
  • Curd Jürgens (billed as "Curt Jurgens" in the credits) as Karl Stromberg
  • Richard Kiel as Jaws
  • Caroline Munro as Naomi
  • Walter Gotell as General Gogol
  • Bernard Lee as M
  • Desmond Llewelyn as Q/Major Boothroyd
  • Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny
  • Geoffrey Keen as Frederick Gray
  • Milton Reid as Sandor
  • Robert Brown as Vice-Admiral Hargreaves
  • George Baker as Captain Benson

Well, I may say that this part has become my favourite one with Roger Moore who isn't the true reason: the names are wonderful Barbara Bach and dangerous Richard Kiel.

Advantages
  • Barbara Bach as Anya Amasova/Agent Triple X
  • Richard Kiel as Jaws

Disadvantages
  • Too pretentious
  • Some scenes are overacted
  • Funny special effects

Strangenesses
  • Seems like James Bond is absolutely immortal

Clue Moments
  • Submarines
  • Major Anya Amasova
  • Sardinia

Quotations
* * *
Q: Right. Now pay attention, 007. I want you to take great care of this equipment. There are one or two rather special accessories...
James Bond: Q, have I ever let you down?
Q: Frequently.
* * *
James Bond: Which bullet has my name on it? The first or the last?
Major Anya Amasova: I have never failed on a mission, Commander. Any mission.
James Bond: In that case, Major, one of us is bound to end up gravely disappointed, because neither have I.
* * *
Sheikh Hoseim: What can I offer you? Sheep's eyes? Dates? Vodka martini?
* * *
James Bond: The printout transmission unit, can you work it?
Captain Carter: Well sure, but James we've only got three minutes!
* * *
Major Anya Amasova: But James, what will our superiors say?
James Bond: They're never going to know.
* * *
Captain Carter: [as James is removing the warhead to a nuclear missile] James, are you sure you know what you're doing?
James Bond: Well, there has to be a first time for everything.
* * *
Liparus Captain: You're too late, Bond. The submarines are already on station. In four minutes, the missles will be launched.
* * *
Q: Mission successful?
