Frankly speaking, I hadn't expect to watch "Southpaw" but did it yesterday and I was totally spellbound. The film turned out quite hard, violent, verisimilar and it's important to mention that it wasn't about boxing - it was about a boxer who changed everything. Firstly lost everything but then make it back.

Jake Gyllenhaal has shown his talent in every his film and "Southpaw" wasn't an exception - his Billy Hope totally amazed me! Furious and uncontrolled at the start but wise and reliable at the finish. Rachel McAdams who has become one of my favourite actresses seemed so wonderful in the film despite the fact she appeared only for some minutes. As Naomie Harris, her role as Angela Rivera wasn't as fascinating as Tia Dalma (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) but all in all I was glad to see her.

Advantages
  • Jake Gyllenhaal as Billy Hope
  • Forest Whitaker as Titus "Tick" Wills
  • Rachel McAdams as Maureen Hope

Disadvantages
  • Violence (just because I couldn't find anything bad in this film)

  • Recovering
  • The final round

Uncontrolled anger is a real problem which may cause much more troubles. Realising that you are losing control of your temper can be a frightening experience if it has not happened before. Maybe you felt overcome with aggression, perhaps you lost your temper and acted out of control and out of character, but the most important thing is realising that this has happened and wanting to make sure it doesn’t happen again. It is important to understand the effect your temper and anger have had on your health and how it affects those around you.
