"The Maze Runner" is a sci-fi mystery action film directed by Wes Ball and based on James Dashner's 2009 novel of the same name. The story is about Thomas who forgot everything and finds himself in an unknown place where teenagers has to survive. So he does the same but with the lapse of time he recalls that he isn't just a next one who arrives there.

Cast
  • Dylan O'Brien as Thomas
  • Kaya Scodelario as Teresa
  • Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt
  • Will Poulter as Gally
  • Ki Hong Lee as Minho
  • Aml Ameen as Alby
  • Blake Cooper as Chuck
  • Dexter Darden as Frypan
  • Chris Sheffield as Ben, a runner
  • Jacob Latimore as Jeff
  • Alexander Flores as Winston
  • Randall D. Cunningham as Clint
  • Joe Adler as Zart
  • Patricia Clarkson as Ava Paige

Wes Ball is best known for this film. And as for "The Maze Runner", it turned out a film for once - yes, I like it but I'm not sure that I will rewatch it. There it's possible to find a twisted plot that makes me look for the next part.

I was happy that Dylan O'Brien ("Teen Wolf") got a dramatic role and he coped with the character. Kaya Scodelario as Teresa seemed somewhat lost in the bad sense of the word: I didn't see a really good acting, possibly because of a minimum of her appearance.

To sum up, I stayed a little disappointed as I was waiting for something more. Unfortunately.

Advantages
  • Dylan O'Brien as Thomas
  • Kaya Scodelario as Teresa

Disadvantages
  • Too much talking

"Strangenesses"
  • Why does someone need to test teenagers?

Clue Moments
  • The labyrinth

It's always possible to find an exit from anywhere. Our inner maze may seem hopeless and despairing but it isn't so. Everything what is necessary to do is searching. And it's by-turn needs to be brave and reckless. Don't forget about it in times of trouble.
