"Now You See Me: The Second Act" is an action comedy thriller film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Ed Solomon. It's a sequel to the "Now You See Me" which shows the reunion of the Four Horsemen who are forcibly recruited by a tech genius, Walter Mabry, in order to commit an impossible crime.

Cast
  • Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel "Danny" Atlas
  • Mark Ruffalo as Dylan Rhodes
  • Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney/Chase McKinney
  • Dave Franco as Jack Wilder
  • Daniel Radcliffe as Walter Mabry
  • Lizzy Caplan as Lula
  • Jay Chou as Li
  • Sanaa Lathan as Agent Natalie Austin
  • Michael Caine as Arthur Tressler
  • Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley

As "Now You See Me" turned out to me an almost perfect attraction, I've been waiting for the second part with pleasure. But before I start to muse about it I should say that I haven't been expecting anything because the first installment was a standalone picture without (probably) a hope for a sequel.

To begin with, I love "Now You See Me" so much primarily due to the cast: Jesse Eisenberg as smug J. Daniel Atlas, Mark Ruffalo as double-faced Dylan Rhodes,Woody Harrelson as charismatic Merritt McKinney (and now also as grotesque Chase McKinney), Dave Franco as charming Jack Wilder (who again got not enough screen time), Daniel Radcliffe as Walter Mabry, a main antagonist (about whose childhood we can hear a lot of magic Easter eggs), Michael Caine as foul Arthur Tressler, Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley with hundreds oа secrets, and Isla Fisher... Lizzy Caplan as weird Lula.

Yes, I've already heard and read not very positive reviews. Why do I mention this? Because I don't agree with them, at least not with all. Not a masterpiece? Sorry, but not every film has a purpose to become a leader of IMDb Top 250. Moreover, "Now You See Me: The Second Act" is firstly a spectacular picture with great special effects which make you feel the atmospehere of magic. No tricks, just lies? Hm, well, perhaps it's impossible to explain every focus as, yes, not all of them conform to the laws of physics, but does it matter? I mean, guys, let's just see a show and forget about everything? Why not? You have a great opportunity to relax and enjoy a beautiful picture so why you don't want to use it?

To sum up, I want to say about main advantages of the film. Firstly, wonderful music that makes me feel so good because it's both enigmatic and intriguing, at least for my ears. Secondly, visual effects. It's my second reason why I love this film series (except for the cast) as they just give you a chance to become dizzy. And thirdly, the only sphere I agree to be taken in is cinematography. Therefore it's unimportant to me will "Now You See Me: The Second Act" show me illusions or mystifications, I'll accept it (even flat characters, as people say).
