This scandalous and triumphal film which received Palme d’Or in 2013 I wanted to watch in cinema but something held me back from doing it. In vain.
"La Vie d'Adèle" is a wonderful film with a fantastic atmosphere: during three hours a viewer may keep an eye on growing difficult relationships of Adele and on her life - and that's interesting: this girl is an ordinary one but the story is told the way that makes see her originality.
Léa Seydoux as Emma is something special: her character isn't the mainest (I know it's impossible to say like that) but looks like. Her unusual Emma (who reminds me Chloe Price) serves as a catalyst for Adele, she changes her life painting it blue. As for Adèle Exarchopoulos, she's my discovery: her acting turns out incredible and captivating.
The only and the biggest disadvantage in the film are bedroom scenes: they're so... revealing that makes me feel uncomfortable.
Advantages
- Léa Seydoux as Emma
- Adèle Exarchopoulos as Adèle
- Jérémie Laheurte as Thomas
- The atmosphere of the film
- Music
Disadvantages
- Too much revealing bedroom scenes
"Strangenesses"
- Why Adele spends the night with Thomas if she feels nothing to him?
- Why Adele cheats on Emma?
Clue Moments
- Many shades of blue (like Emma's hair, her bed, Adele's paper-case, the bench near which Adele breaks off with Thomas)
- Bedroom scenes
- Dating with Thomas
- Adele's meeting with Emma in the bar
- Adele's cheating
- Adele in the water
- Adele in blue goes in Emma's exhibition
Free your feelings, your passion - it's the message of the film. Someone is like Emma who knows what she wants to and who she is; she isn't ashamed neither of her love nor her art. However more people in this world like Adele: she fears to admit even to herself who she is and that she has a talent of writing. Between these people there's only one difference - Emmas are happy.
